The School & Centre Director, Ms. Carrie Preston, had a vision over ten years ago- to open a learning centre that focused on helping students achieve their full potential.
Equipped with a teacher’s degree, a specialised focus in Special Education, and an understanding that each student learns in a unique way, she sought to find research-validated programmes that would not only remediate a skill, but may also go beyond by remediating the cognitive skills required for learning.
Recently trained in Project Based Learning, Carrie looks forward to how this student-centered pedagogical approach will dynamically transform core subject delivery to prepare students with necessary 21st-century skills by focusing on developing the 4C’s- communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. She looks forward to see how CLC & School students internalise core subject objectives, engage in higher order thinking and deliver personalised projects.
She is passionate about bringing real life-long changes to all the students that attend Cayman Learning Centre & School.
